It is day seven of our American Energy Express tour and we just pulled out of Bowling Green, Ohio after spending the last two days with tens of thousands of Americans at the National Tractor Pull Championships. We were honored to have the opportunity to speak to nearly every one of them about the cap-and-trade legislation and the impacts it would have on Ohioans and their State’s troubled economy.
We asked them how they felt about cap-and-trade, how higher energy prices would affect their family budgets, their businesses, and their way of life, and what they thought about their Senator’s plans to vote to move this legislation forward.
The following are some of the questions and comments we heard most from concerned citizens at the Pull Championships. I think they speak for themselves.

10. What is Cap-and-Trade?
9. Is that the same as the “green jobs” legislation?
8. Is that the plan the President said would cause electricity prices to “necessarily skyrocket?”
7. I thought that bill was dead?
6. They want to increase the price of 85 percent of the energy that fuels America – and 94 percent of the energy we use here in Ohio? Seriously?
5. We’re already struggling as it is, and they want to pass something they openly admit would raise our energy prices?
4. If my energy costs go up, I’m not going to be able to make the payrolls. We’d do what we can, but we’d probably have to lay some folks off.
3. Senator Brown said he’d vote to move this legislation forward? Really? Why would he do something like that? I thought that our politicians were supposed pass laws that help us, not hurt us?
2. What can I do to join the fight?
1. Thank you. Really appreciate what ya’ll are doing. God bless you.
